That's ideally speaking of course even though I know it shall not happen.

Mishra doesn't fit yet into the ODI sheme of things. The 10 overs he bowls can b, at this stage, filled up by two-three players. Then the batting and fielding. Not that he's bad but the ODI team is looking for something else.

The policy is clear...gradually they are veering around to 8-9 players who can do at least two things well...fielding is compulsory and not included in those two things.

A pure bat or a pure bowler will have to be exceptional.

I see some definite direction as well...they appear to using this series to check out a few more players...like Jadeja and giving Ojha one more opportunity.

Kohli has been screened and his being dropped does not mean he has been unsatisfactory...like they are doing with Vijay in the Duleep (giving Mukund a chance to push himslef into nationalconsciousness now that Vijay has already done it).

The real culling will start after building a 30-40 strong interchangeable core all-purpose group. 2010 should be the year when we shall see the crystallization of the actual goal-based one-day team.

The idea is to check-see and also to keep in form all players. Form is also an important issue after all.Soulberryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15830619858224129215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5134440631193335724.post-86606655936358174792009-01-21T17:16:00.000+05:302009-01-21T17:16:00.000+05:30Agree with the non performance at domestic level b...Agree with the non performance at domestic level but i think justice has been served cos Praveen never deserved to be dropped in the first place. Have u forgotten what he did at the CB series? Why did he go missing after that?

What makes u suggest that Ojha is 'in' the books and Mishra is not?Qhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947332468863567271noreply@blogger.com
