Crotchguards and wives

First crotchguard was used in 1874 while the first helmet was used in 1974. Tony Grieg's wife: "it took men hundred years to realise that the head also matters". Sachin's wife: "he's still got an itch to scratch". Powdered crotchguards anyone?
