Kirmani the prophet?

by Bored Guest

So did Syed Kirmani call it correctly, in his comments when he said India's run could end in Kiwiland. After the first two T 20 matches, the World Champions have been humbled. The rest of the series is wide open now. Looks like the series Down Under has given the Kiwis the confidence they need. And once again, the Kiwis are the most interesting side in the world with the ability to humble the big teams. Vettori, like Fleming has become a skipper to watch.

What the tour has shown so far is that India as a team, and MSD as a captain are still evolving. MSD's batting in the second T 20 defied logic. Thanks to his unduly patient knock, India left it too late, and in the end too little. The Aussies at their peak did not take their foot of the pedal, and could decimate an opposition. India have the same capability, but they need the confidence to implement it. The captain has to give the team that confidence.Ponting did it with Australia, Smith is doing it with South Africe, and Dhoni has to do it with India.

After India's losses in the T 20 the rest of the series is wide open now.

Dhoni the captain is truly under the test. So's Kirmani the prophet.

Actually now the back lash will begin... Day games during the ODI's and the Kiwis will feel the brunt of India's backlash.

Cheers,

Homer, backlash indeed.
ODIs are D/N games too, tho they start at 1400 hrs. Light till when in NZL?

Ya Homer, that's the way it should be. And India need to back themselves for the backlash. Will need just one win for the team to find its rhythm again, just one win.

sehwag should take the leaf out of mccullum...he is wasting his form...and looking like a pinch hitter...its one thing looking to hit everything out of sight and another to take the responsibility and carry the form to team advantage...

SP, i'd take 24 of 11 (sr 200+) here, and 26 of 14 (sr 250+) day before, in a t20.

today, the shot was on, played it straightish too - think he needs to move a li'l more weight fwd, that'll carry the ball further, faster, higher. nearly got caught earlier too.

NC the thing is if every ball is needed to be hit out of sight why not have yusuf as an opener...he too can do it...given the license...

what i am saying is that for all the talent and the form he is in he is not doing justice to it by looking like a reckless hitter...

on other hand is mccullum who is not the half in terms of sehwag's talent but has carried the nz team thru consecutively in two games...

SP, you gotta let Sehwag be, he'll win you games single handedly, and then there will be days like this, where he'll set it up. But we cannot redefine and make his and Gambhir's role the same.
