well done bcci !!!

by straight point

for offering amnesty to ICL players...hence showing other boards the way...how to do it...

"A lot of cricketers and support staff with the ICL met us and informed us that it was a mistake committed by them in joining the ICL and they want to return to the BCCI," Shashank Manohar, the BCCI president, said. "They will be allowed to play domestic cricket immediately. "

while its good news for those players who are looking to return to the fold...at the same time its bad news to all those who made the living out of condemning bcci for almost everything happening in cricketing world...though i am sure they will still find a way to do it...after all old habits die hard...

long live ailing ICL!

Well done indeed! They have finally risen above pettiness even while still having all the odds stacked in their favor, deserves some commendation. This can surely only be good for international cricket.

P.S: I wonder what will happen to the American league now... If the players from the ICL were allowed to play in the American league, then they would have been able to make good money and play more cricket... so I just wonder what prompted this decision. Does anyone know if the players approached the BCCI once before and were rejected?

Wait a second.. how is this showing other boards how its done?

The ICC passed a regulation regarding the ban on unofficial leagues. When the Pak players came to the PCB saying they want to come back and leave the ICL, the PCB sent a request of approval to the ICC, who by the way said that a rule will be passed and probably a cooling period will be suggested.

No rule has been forthcoming since.

Now these people come to the BCCI and the BCCI say "welcome back".. wat abt the approval from the ICC?

Or is the BCCI above them?

Im sorry but this is nothing but double standards on the part of the BCCI.

The players who choose to return to the official fold will be eligible to play international cricket after a one-year 'cooling period' but can play domestic cricket from June 1, when the ICC's new rules on official and unofficial cricket come into force.
