I heard Paul Collingwood say during his interview last night that his team was booed by the Indian fans as they took the field. If this is true, then shame on these so-called "Indian fans". Supporting one's team does not mean you show disrespect to the opposition. Now there is no difference between us and a section of Australian fans known to be rowdy.
These Indian supporters have brought disrespect to the tricolour and to Mother India.
Our cricket fans have shown double standards. They are miffed when the Australian supporters boo our team in Australia but now they have gone ahead and aped the Australians.
Most of these so-called Indian supporters might have left India to avail the benefits of living in England, be it education, profession, trade. So the least they can do is behave themselves, display some sportsman spirit and show some respect to the cricket team of the nation where they reside.
Bad behaviour by Indian fans

That was intentional, wasn't it? Brilliant.
While it was funny to see the Indian supporters outnumbering the English by far at Lord's, this kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Don't cheer for the opposition if you can't...at least don't boo them!
There is much bigger political problem. There have been British politicians who have exploited the fact that British citizens of Indian/Pakistani origin cheer India or Pakistan over the England team. What the booing crowds are doing is provide more ammunition to that crowd.
Very true , Krish - personally , i feel that if its from indian tourists , then its perfectly OK to cheer for india (although not so to get nasty or vicious on opposition) but am not too convinced of the case for British citizens of Indian (or Pak / SL , whatever) origin to openly root for India (or Pak / SL , etc)..i know we wouldnt like it if the boot was on the other foot...! It's fine if you really support the other team but keep it subdued , mate , dont flaunt it that openly ! :-)
Dear Profernity, believe me, the use of the word APE was totally coincidental and not intentional. Anyway great to have so many reactions to my post. I hope you guys read my earlier post on this issue called "Who'll support Bopara, Rashid, Shah, Panesar".
It might be worth giving the same Indian fans the same fairness given to the Australians as far as double standards go. The Indian booers probably aren't the same people who complain about Australian booers...
