Pakistan to qualify for the semi finals after beating New Zealand, Netherlands, and Ireland...
But doesn't ensure Sri Lanka a spot after they have beaten Australia, West Indies, and Pakistan?
Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this?

Certainly Q. When the grandly named 'ICC World Cup' is going to be held every alternate week, then I think seedings should not be the be all end all of fixtures.
Just like you will reap the benefits of your good deeds in your next life. Pakistan got an easy draw because of it's performance in the previous WC. In fact all the teams were placed in different groups according to their international ranking. I think the format was fair in that aspect, however some teams which performed poorly in the last WC have improved a lot this year hence caused a few problems.
I'm certainly not complaining.
i can only imaging what kind of flak modi or bcci would have got had they come up with this kinda format...but its icc they can get away even with murder...
yeah Q - bizzare innit ?
Look closer and you'll notice that New Zealand, Netherlands Ireland are all land, where as, Australia, Pakistan, West Indies were all at sea.
NC, thats a brilliant comment!
Late, I agree.
Wasim,
That's what most people said as well.. that Pakistan had an easier draw cos they were seeded 2..
Hani,
Neither am I ;-)
Bur food for thought, is it not?
SP,
Who can give flak to the ICC?
The board members? I think they need to complain abt the format, sit together and come up with a better one for next time. After all they are the brains behind the game, are they not?
Bhaskar,
Absolutely but I'm not complaining ;-)
NC,
That is simply awesome!
No comment on that Raj and Q. cheers!
Trying to get the last word in NC?
