It's bad enough when you can't deliver on the promise Shastri makes to the world - 4 fifties in 41 games is the stuff Ian Bells are made of. But when your name is Nohit Sharma the last thing you want is some hormonal kid scoring hundreds for fun.
Nohit might have been a bit relieved to know he wasn't be playing at the Gangothri Glades. It's a bit difficult to wow the Shastris and Sunnies when you're playing on a green top in a game no one really cares about. Instead, he had a chance to show his potential on those flat tracks in East Bengal. But little did he know that fellow U-19 cricketers, Kohli and Karthik, were going to ensure Nohit got no hit in the middle. But there is a bright side to all this - Karthik is going to make way for Sehwag today and Kohli will cool his heels when Sachin decides to grace the team with His presence.
Maybe that's the reason Nohit no performs, he knows he's going to be out when the big boys decide they want in on the action. Better to just wait it out and score big in the tournament that matters, and become its MVP. Afterall, he will be able to whore himself to those IPL owners in a year's time.

Rohit Sharma has got a good technique and posses great style. But those two are not going to win matches. He has been pathetic recently in ODIs and as soon as he is dumped we will see his name shortlisted again in the next selection. He has some kind of stranglehold with the selectors.
I post an official protest against the use of the term 'Nohit'. It is discriminatory and defamatory.
I would have had a go at any of Mahek's favourite players but he really doesn't seem to like anyone..
Playing the Ranji finals or sitting on the bench, Rohit would've had the same reply to how are you - My sore ass!
make no mistake about the talent rohit has and i will still put them in following order...
rohit, kohli, dk, raina...
kohli too used to throw it away but seems to have put price on his wicket these days... by the same account there is nothing in the world that suggest that rohit too cannot do it and once he will do it the difference will be obvious...
having said that i am impressed by kohli and more disappointed by raina coz even after making debut about four and half years ago raina still does not seems to know how to construct an innings...
Haha, great post MV. The one reason why I'm looking forward to IPL is your railing against various players.
Mahek - you brilliant guy!
SP,
Most of the criticism Raina cops is grossly unfair. He gets clubbed with Nohit everytime the winner of India's got talent fails. Raina just scored a hundred after coming in at 4 for 47. It's hard to "construct an innings" when you're batting at 6 and yet he comes in and scores quick fifties almost every other game.
I'm tired of listening to people talk about the talent possessed by Nohit, Harbhajan and Ishant. We waste so much time giving these guys numerous chances to fail while guys like Raina, Ojha and Praveen Kumar are clubbed with these talented guys whenever they feel.
Rohit,
You don't have to protest. He's Nohit, you're Rohit. I don't see why there's any confusion.
then i would suggest you to see raina's average while coming in at no. 3 which is about 23 in his 16 appearances...

It's still better than the spectacular fourteen and a half runs Nohit scores every time he bats at 3. Besides, that's not where Raina bats these days.
This is Raina's second coming and he has gone past 50 on fourteen occasions in forty three innings, most of which were from positions 4, 5 and 6. In fact, Raina has a considerably higher average than Nohit at every position from 3 to 6. But yeah, he doesn't have the TALENT Nohit possesses.
