Why so smug?

by Gaurav Sethi

India hacks an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the ODI series. Who would have thought?

2-2, one rained off, and about time too. a 4 odi series is better than 5 anyday.
If in spite of the rain, they drag a t20 odi game, india 3-2.
lanka are gonna miss malinga. india, an injured ishant -which isn’t much in comparison.

Mind you we did it with just 4 bowlers.

i commented on various blogs after first defeat that its too early to write y'ones off...and that at least we should wait till 3/4th match of the series to see the pattern...

everybody was carrying the disappointment of test series failure to ODIs and once we lost it too on first odi all hell broke loose...

i predicted that this series will make way for at least one spot available in middle order...and that vaas will be looking to retire (i think on OTTs) from game...and i think both predictions are on course...

NC,

Do you want to weave it into a new post or just leave a link in this section?

sp - vaas was batting two spots too high. also, far too many utility players, but no specific skills. dilshan for long has been a10s and 20s guy, and the middle order never gets gng. He's gng the arnold way, only flashier.

With Jayasuriya not firing upfront, Lanka backfires. imo Warnapurna should have played all games, had some test form, and the measure of india's bowling.

Ott - leave a Link.
