letting go one in hand...

by Bored Member

for two in bush…that is…

so the prolific scorer in shikhar dhawan has been swapped with another ‘prolific’ bowler in nehra…for a player who is yet to prove his credentials at international level...

apparently after signing warner delhi dare devil's think tank has gone on leave, thinking this season's trophy is as good as theirs…or what else can explain this stupid move…

perhaps they should have listened to what this proven genius has to say about this un-proven kid...

"We could have signed him but I said 'no, he's only done it twice at domestic level, let him prove himself first."

Shane Warne

time will tell how successful warner will be under indian conditions…but for me, dare devils have already betrayed delhi's trust...as there is one old saying which goes like this…

never let go your old relationships for forming new ones…

watched dhawan's knock in devil's first game vs Royals, kid is sharp, hits some amazing angles, plus he's played a lotta crick in del. that game viru fell early, think he and GG took us thru.

Then you have Mr Injury, dopehead, dullhead, Munaf kinda fielder and batsman, Nehra. But can he bowl, or was that ten years back?

Bad swap. Can't hide him the field or in the match pictures.

Right now Devils have a prob with the foreign players -barring McGrath, Vettori, Mahroof, nobody's good value. Ideally they need to import a young quick. Greaves was ordinary.

Warner, while it's tough to call on conditions, should be a good buy. Not a good bye. 3D after Viru, GG, Dhawan needed firepower. But letting go of Dhawan they're back to square one.

Suspect, Dhawan was an odd ball, too cool for the Delhi bunch. Let me get an insider's take too. Also Sehwag would've wanted his old yaar in.

look at whichever way NC...this is the text book example of overestimating assumptions...on both count...but more on nehra's...

would really be interested to know the insider's take on this though...

I don't think Delhi are going to gain much out of this deal. Dhawan is a pretty decent striker of the ball and so is Warner. Reading too much into their capabilities just on the basis of a handful of T20 games doesn't make much sense. Nehra can still be a pretty useful bowler when it comes to bowling in the death overs. One trend still seems to emerge -- coaches or players, Aussies are always in deman no matter how much we love to hate them.

a warm welcome anubhav...hope you will keep 'yawning' here...

dhawan has proven himself for 3Ds last season while warner is yet to be tested...

and they have replaced dhawan with nehra who we don't even know how many matches or to be precise overs he will last...hence the rant...

Why take Nehra for Dhawan, one of the super succss of last year IPL :(

is it that all Delhi players play for daredevils, all bangloreans for Royal challengers and all Mumbai players for MI ?

its not about who plays for who...its about this brain fade that compelled then for this pathetic move... :)

I dont understand the move.. to replace a batsman with a bowler and that too one of ur most successful batsmen.. why? Strangeness..

NC - I reckon AB, Dilshan, and Malik are great buys for Delhi.. None did much last season but the kind of form all 3 have been lately, Delhi's batting looks very strong.
