Two additional teams will join the IPL in 2011.
My guess is that one team will be from Ahmedabad and the other from Kanpur.
My reasoning for this... UP has largest population in India and needs to be represented and Gujarat is a progressive state, has a huge global presence due to its expats and has one of the premier floodlit stadiums in India.
Ahmedabad team could be called Gujarati Shakaharis.
Your guesses on the two possible teams......
Top two brand names will be made into a logo, displayed here at BCC! and shot off to Mr Modi.

K, this is an article that appeared in the Economic Times after last year's IPL season.
It talks about Ahmedabad and Kanpur being added in 2010. I guess the plans have been delayed.
It also mentions Anil Ambani and the Sahara Group being interested in these 2 franchises.

As for the names:
Ahmedabad Angaray - it'll be nice to have a bollywood type name in.. no royalty please..
Kanpur Ke Khiladi... wah wah! They can have Akshay Kumar in the mix too..
Q, To be honest it wasn't a guess but I overheard about the possibility of these two teams when I was working for the Delhi team last year.
As for Akshay.. I think DD would like to retain him since he is "Daredevilry Personified".
This one's only for people familiar with Tamil films - All-in-All Ahmedabad.
As for Kanpur, they can simply name it as KKKKKKKK...KKKKKanpur, and rope in Shahrukh as brand ambassador :-)

Yes. Was actually in their media department. I had to look after logistics at the media centre at Feroz Shah Kotla and also prepared all the player profiles handed out to the media. So only there for the home matches and did not travel out of Delhi for the away fixtures. But my regular job is with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). I'm their media manager so could not go to South Africa this year as we had some of our golf tournaments clashing with the IPL.
Thats awesome K! I recently worked as a media manager with the Dubai Sports City for the Pak v Aus series.. so I know how fun and tough your job is.
