15 runs. 45 balls. 1*4. 1*3. 7*1. Cant hit out. Cant rotate the strike, And not for the first time, his inability to get the ball off the square is bogging down Sachin.
How high a price is India paying for its perceived weakness against the short ball?

there are two surfaces on on which rahul bats and on another rest of the team... but the biggest blaming is that even with the strike rate that he scores these days... he can't even bottle up one end... to improve it later...
And Yuvraj Singh - still the same weaknesses. He is ok - he can sell Bikes and Colas - so he needs to be in the team
Spot on SP...It boggles the mind that a man with over 300 ODIs under his belt cannot grasp the importance of rotating the strike or capitalizing on a start!
Cheers,
Anon,
Yuvraj - 8 in 13 balls with 2 fours. And got out going for the slog. Atleast you cannot chide him for intent!
Cheers,
Homer
no issues with the Strike rate..that was defo not fit for an ODI....but pray how does Dravid playing out a few (ok, a lot of) dot balls bog down Sachin. He is free to hit out whenever he gets the strike..it's not like there is a massive score to chase and the asking rate is going up....
Megha,
Sachin was in full flow.. Dravid is playing anchor. Now if Dravid is not rotating the strike ( which he was not), Sachin spends a lot more time at the non striker's end. And it is a given that when Sachin in form is spending way too much time away from the strike, he gets twitchy.
Thats how he was bogging Sachin down.
Cheers,
What are you talking about Homer? They are playing in Sri Lanka and the number one threat on Sri Lankan pitches is the short ball, which is why Dravid was picked and which is why India have won!!!
/goes back to the coffee pot to stay awake a little longer
I know Achettup.. My bad :)
Cheers,
Yeah a huge price that the Raina who came at 3 first now comes in at 5 or 6 and plays a finisher.
Any big price than that ?
Its just a first game man in 2 yrs for RD. Patience.
Sam,
All the more reason for India to worry!
Cheers,

Now that is Sachin's problem surely not Rahul's? ;-)
