Now you know why Pradeep Sangwan didn’t bowl an over

In Dardevils’ first game, Victoria knocked off the 98 in 16.4 overs. Gambhir used 5 bowlers, but not the 3rd bowler, Pradeep Sangwan. He bowled Dilshan for 4, Bhatia for 2.4, but no Sangwan.

Unlike Dilshan and Bhatia, Sangwan is not picked for his batting. He’s basically a bowler, medium pace, handy as hell, picks plenty of T20 wickets. He’s still 18, 19 in a few weeks.

To me it seems, Sangwan wasn’t meant to bowl – you don’t want to bowl a kid, see him take a few wickets in a lost cause, and then be in a spot when it comes to drop him for the next game. Best not to bowl him at all.

It’s not as if he’s going to ask, why didn’t you bowl me, boss? Really makes me marvel at the beautiful minds at work. The kind that kept Glenn McGrath out for one full season and then a game.
