The continuing saga of BossDK and BiggBosST : 2

by Bhaskar Khaund

It's yet another BossDK and BiggBosST partnership.
The top order has collapsed but BiggBosST is single-handedly keeping hopes alive with a brilliant innings. BossDK on the other hand has been struggling. He is on 11 off 70-odd (and painstaking) deliveries and is clearly out of sorts. The shots elude him even while the asking rate's mounting. However , he has provided steady support by preserving his wicket. It's now down to ST to try and take their team to an improbable victory.
We come in at the point where that victory looks more improbable than ever.
33 runs are required to win off the last 2.2 overs. ST is on 91 , DK on 11.
47.5 : ST takes a quick single. Good , sensible cricket.
32 now required off 13 balls. All that fans hope for now is an ST century. If ST's genius produces a miracle , that'd only be a bonus .
47.6 : Nonsense cricket ! DK jabs at the ball and immediately dashes across the pitch, compelling ST to complete that risky and undesirable run.
So that's 31 needed from 12. ST is on 92 , DK on 12 and on strike. The best bowler XX (match figures 7-1-17-5 ) brought on to bowl now. DK has to ensure that ST gets strike immediately. ST signals to DK , pointing out gaps for a quick single. DK nods vigorously.
Their understanding is legendary.
And then this is how the 49th over unfolds.
48. 1 : XX to DK. SIX !
48. 2 : XX to DK. SIX !
48. 3 : XX to DK. SIX !
48. 4 : XX to DK. SIX !
48. 5 : XX to DK. SIX !
48. 6 : XX to DK. SIX !
DK has scored the most shocking 48* in cricket history. And their team have won with an over to spare !!!
Man of the Match BiggBosST finishes with an unbeaten 92*

Very impressive Bhaskar, I tried to find a scenario in which Boss DK managed to get a half century but there is none!

I take this scenario as the revenge of the fallen!! Imagine a scenario where Boss DK is batting with our very own MSD and MSD mssd a century due to chutzpah of Boss DK!!

Bhaskar Khaund said...

:-) well Mahek and Bubble , let's try and see what scenarios may be possible to work out...:-)

The last 2 6s were unnecessary - after the first 4 6s, he could have blocked the last two balls, and left ST to get the next 7 runs; as we know he could have still hit two 4s and got to his 100. No justice.

Well, guys, I think this is going a little too far. I mean, yeah I have a sense of humour and all. But what is it that we are satirising or spoofing here? I am a bit lost on that.

Naresh said...

Raj, They are proving they have a sense of humor (at least the delhi variety). But that is just my guess.

Well, in the end, we are all bored aren't we?

PS: wonder which one out there would like to be called dilli-billi?

Mahek said...

Is the humour beyond your comprehension, Naresh?

here's delhi again

Naresh said...

hey Mahek,

"Is the humour beyond your comprehension, Naresh?"

Now that plaintive poser did raise a laugh. Tell you what, go get Siddhu paaji and you should get plenty of 'em laughs.

PS: I hope YOU get the humor too.

Mahek said...

As bad as Sidhu is atleast I can laugh at him.

@ Raj and Naresh : Deep breath time , lads ! :-) Cos this is not about DK and SRT anymore. Its based on them but fictional - yes , i got the idea from that ODI obviously but am just extending it.It's NOT a spoof or satire. i'm not that much into the game to get so serious about it

@ NC - i guess perhaps it really will be best to remove the DK and SRT names from the tag labels...

Peace out guys.Its Christmas !:-)

Bhaskar - going as easy as you my friend :). It's not as if anyone was fuming here - just going after the billi a bit.

And Mahek - good on ya about Sidhu. But I will confess, its a bit of a mystery - someone who laughs with Sidhu. Well, Dilli humor perhaps?

Mahek said...

Sidhu's humour is as much Dilli as vada pav.

Naresh said...

"as much Dilli as vada pav"...

LOL. hey Mahek - NOW you are really complaining maan.

Tell you want, listen to BossBK here - and take a deep breath.

And go get a samosa too, or whatever it is you get there :)

Bhaskar Khaund said...

OK , happy and relieved to read that Naresh , thanks ! :-)

Mahek said...

Why, don't you get it in whatever slum dwelling you inhabit?

raj said...

Now, mahek, my turn to say that this is getting into a geographical fight whoa :-)
see, geography does matter, man? We all are suckers for it ;-)

anyway, BK, to be frank, it was just dragging a very small point of humour - that was my complaint. The Cricinfo photograph that seemed to imply that Tenndulkar was taking DK to task for denying a century was funny - though I dont for a moment believe Sachin cared for that century. Your first post on this was funny but now it is like dragging on...that is all

Ok, Christmas time so peace from my side too!

That picture could have meant anything. It wasn't a serious issue but it's worth milking as long as it's all in good fun.

Oh and Raj, awfully nice to call out the guy who didn't start the whole thing. Are we having a repeat of the Perth incident? :P

Bhaskar Khaund said...

Raj - thanx for the clarification. i havent seen the cricinfo pic , shl check it out. but as i said , its not about either dk or srt. Just a bit of nonsense and as Mahek points out, all in good fun only. if u mean the joke's getting stale , your point is well taken . which , ahem , is not to say i won't continue- bcos i intend to put out a few more in the series. stubbornly imbecile bastard that i am , so apologies in advance :-)

Mahek said...

Yeah, you're not BKL for no reason.

Bhaskar Khaund said...

indeed :-)

raj said...

Mahek, we follow Chris Broad's guide for justice ;-)

Naresh said...

"i intend to put out a few more in the series"

BossBK on BossDK then!

Bhaskar Khaund said...

Oh yes sirs, yes sirs, three bags full Mahek ji and Naresh ji : Packed festive season ahead. BKL will be putting out the rest of the series clear and loud on a top audio system - Bose Ringverb (or BoseRi for short). During breaks , BKL will feature songs from noted singer BDL (Be'hen Dylan). oh yes sir ! :-)

Mahek said...

You know you didn't have to elaborate on BDL, didn't you?

Bhaskar Khaund said...

Now if only i knew that, Mahek, if only....kaash :-)
