t20 is a batsman's game...

by straight point

not that i had any doubts about it... neither do i envy murali vijay...

but when vijay got a century cheeka jumped up and down in ecstasy and then settled down to sigh on national tv... that had it not been for the icc rule to select t20 world cup team a month in advance... he would have picked murali vijay... without a hint of guilt...

by the same token, why not a single word for two bowlers... ojha and mishra... who are the highest wicket takers this season...?

i think Srikanth's pep talk one day gave a clear hint to why most commentators and talkative lot; keep talking about batsmen; As in Srikanth's own words: "If cricket would not have been a batsman's game; then how come mostly all selectors are batsmen".

The rules of the ICC Events are such that we need to announce the team well in advance and only injury scares may include some changes in the team.

They do not worry about the form scares for the players.

BTW, there were some bowlers also (as selectors). However, when you look into any team composition, it will have 7 Players as Batsman/WK+Batsman/Bowler+Batsman. Hence the majority of them come into picture when they become selectors. Thats why.

Pragyan Ojha is distinctly unlucky. BTW, who is the most economical offspinner in the tournament with more than 35 overs to his credit?
Hint: it is not a foul-mouthed sardar :-)

Without any filter, it is Viru(overall #1) who has bowled 5 overs, then Duminy(overall #3).
Then, it is Ashwin at overall #4who also has just 3 less wickets than Durby in 3less matches.
But he nearly kicked CSK out of Semis by failing to score 1 run off two balls against Theron so he is not a threat yet to Durby.

Kartik is also above Mishra Ojha and Durby in E/R although he hasnt played enough or taken enough wickets.
