It was children’s day, 18 years back. Mind you, you were no baby, making your ODI debut at 32. And then you ruined a perfectly good day-nighter at the JNS. It started well, the mad hordes ran up with that familiar chant of “Hi Hi Shastri” Why not “Hello Hello Shastri” is beyond me. For a game in which India’s two one-day specialists, Ravi Shastri and Sanjay Manjrekar, both made hundreds, what did you do – you won the game. I left your party a tad early that day. And now you are fifty. Happy bored day Kuiper. Give my regards to Clive Rice.
