Munaf Patel barely survives the bowler’s run up. He has already zoned in on mid off and how to scoop the ball to Ottayan.
In the first ODI though, he was not himself. Munaf swept with success. Something I haven't seen any other Indian batsman do repeatedly against Mendis.
This is not to say that the solution lies in the sweep. Could well be the reverse of that. Hello, KP?
The worst is the best.

in a way i was not surprised...first ishant and now munaf have shown with minimal technique and hence less clutter of so many theories going in fearing mind...have shown what needs to be done...
our batsmen are too arrogant to see light...
NC/Pan,
I think our batsmen are giving too much respect to Mendis. As NC suggests, our batsmen should put him out of his rhythm.
sp - or spk to sehwag as u mentioned elsewhere. msd is adamant they can't read him - imagine what that does for m's confidence. not that it needs much doing.
ott - one batsman should be Asnodkared, which one?
and if gambhir is reading m, request him to either linger, or play him lower down. neither seem likely tho.
sweep might work... I cant understand their difficulty to even read him off the pitch! Surely any team can score more by reading him off the pitch alone.
scorpi - MSD's take that they can't read M concedes far too much. While it might be honest, and a safe fallback explanation, he said the same after the Asia Cup.
Typical MSD straight shooting. Now they gotta toss the batting around. Create an opener from somehwere.
they are now forced to create an opener with gg also getting injured...
sources close to gg said that he looked left, right, up, down, front and back but couldnt find sehwag...
result...twisted his neck... :)
sp - Haha! Tho i wouldn't put it beyond msd to pull gg for that shot. these neck ones, too vague.
@91 for 6, lanka's still gonna push india. anything around 150 gonna be fun.
