will johnson become the next brett lee...

by straight point

so siddle and hilfenhaus could not cope with the work load and now their fitness is under assessment...

but what about the work horse mitchell johnson...?

he has bowled nearly 450 overs in his last 9 tests...club that with the time spent while batting...and you can imagine the herculean effort he puts in for australia match after match...innings after innings...

but till when?

we have already seen what happened to brett lee...he succumbed to the relentless workload of carrying the attack after the retirements of stalwarts like warne and macgrath...

...and it won't be long before johnson too will burn out that last ounce of energy left in him...

the scenario can't be ruled out when it will be time for fully fit brett lee raring to go at opponents...johnson will be cooling his heels in a quiet rehabilitation room...

australia it seems have not heard the story of the goose with the golden eggs!

they must look to share his workload or they will be left with an attack which will be as penetrative as...oh leave that...

you get the drift...

It's working for them and no one's complaining. Mitch may have a solid constitution. But do they have many options?

though its cleary working for them SB no doubt about that...but even then there is limit a bowler can go however fit he is...

as for options...

before the last test match started the qestions were raised about the selection of mcdonald and hilf's selection as test bowler...but they contributed to oz taking 20 wickets...

think zaheer khan, the more he bowls the better he gets. took him a while to figure that out tho.

Fast bowlers like Flintoff, Lee, harmison, still haven't understood how much their bodies/minds can take.

With Johnson, already 27 yrs, barely 20 tests, think he's enjoying the lead. And that is something I could never say abt Lee, he wasn't a willing spearhead, always playing second fiddle. Even to Asha Bhosle.

i always speak from my memory and to me only brett lee was the difference between india not winning in 2003/04 series...apart from bucknor standing in sydney match...

mitchell too seems to enjoy the work load but if the support wont come from other bowlers enjoyment vanishes in the form of injury...

i have read that even he will be playing second test match carrying niggle...and you can understand how easily it can get aggravated to something serious...

johnson's becoming the next lee, that not your concern. Is Ishant gonna become the next Ashish Nehra is something you must worry about
