well done bcci...

by straight point

do not look surprised...much as they get a lotta flak...sometimes they do things which deserve praise...

according to this news, which i chanced upon surfing for ipl, franchises were pressurising bcci for the inclusion of a fifth foreign player in final xi but they remained unmoved...

‘‘We don’t want to turn the IPL into an EPL where there is no cap on foreigners. The BCCI will not compromise on the interest of the Indians," said a BCCI official.

kudos BCCI!!

this move deserves praise coz it will not only protect the interest of 'local' indian players but also retain the 'club' flavor for fans and followers alike...

...and by not yielding to the franchisees' demands bcci has shown that they know the difference of when to make money...when to back the game...all they need is a top PR team and lots of prejudiced notions against them will start to disappear...IMHO...

tho i would've like them to reduce the foreign cap, entertain only retired needy players like warne n gilli and play the ipl in india.

its just that as much as we flak them for their misdeeds...in the same way they deserved to be praised when doing things right...

as for reducing the foreign cap...to be reasonable it will be nothing short of achievement if they keep it to what it is now...4 f.players...

regarding playing IPL in india...i suspect they always had this offshore thing in mind and security has only given them convenient reason to do so...
