does pakistan really need yousuf…razzaq…?

by straight point

icl seems to have accepted yousuf and razzaq's resignations...thereby paving the way for them to return to international cricket...

pcb too can't seem to wait for their return...and we might see them playing for pakistan sooner rather than later...

but does pakistan really need them...?

i for once don’t think so...

razzaq...was seen as a spent force in one dayers as well as tests...his bowling was dipping alarmingly for him to be termed as an all rounder, and i'm not sure his batting credentials are such that he can be included in an international team for batting alone...t20 may be...but certainly not in the longer format of the game...

after all the flip-flops of yousuf and his media war with malik (then captain) one can really imagine the kind of ‘camaraderie’ he will have in the dressing room...i would go to the extent of saying that he will be nothing but a negative influence which is the last thing this pak team needs at this time of rebuilding...

pak seem to be on their way to finding a combination under the leadership of younis...and including yousuf at this stage is not only an unwanted distraction but it also has the potential to derail the whole process...

let's not got carried away with yousuf and razzaq tonking losers in icl...

let pak team play cricket without these side shows both on and off field and let them find roots and a right combination...

more importantly let's show some patience with younis once we have bestowed him with this responsibility...let's give him some time to make his imprint on this young and vibrant team pakistan...

your thoughts...?

SP,

i guess it is not about the need for yousuf or razzaq, but about showing off their intent to BCCI! which, well lets not comment about their intents!

Agreed. But i doubt if that wud happen. PCB is known for behaving in most cynical way. So i wont be surprised with another flip flop show from moY or Spinach star.

ankit...i am getting your point...but if this is their intentions...then at what cost...derailing their own team...?

agree sam...but they will have to act tough for their own good...

the flip-flops are making them 'butt' of joke...

Firstly guys, there's no intention in showing anything to the BCCI here.. BCCI and the ICC have cleared all the ICL players and have allowed them to return to international duty. The "cooling period" is a board to board policy.. some will implement it, some won't.

So this talk abt taking them back has nothing to do with sticking something up the BCCI's ass.

Get over that!

As for Razzak and Yousuf.. I believe Yousuf is much needed for test cricket.. I don't think Pakistan should use him for ODIs or T20s.. they have a well settled team for those formats and they shud look to build those teams around youngsters.

For tests, we need Yousuf.

Razzak, well maybe only T20s based on his recent performance in the RBS cup. He was never a test player in my eyes and I dont think he has a place anymore for ODIs.

Q...

i am already over it...that's why i dint even mention bcci... ;-))

i know that yousuf can be considered for tests...but the question is...at what cost...?

don't you think the guy has done enough harm to pak cricket to be banned for life...?

i am yet to come to terms with pak fixation with fall guys...like here with yousuf...can you shed some light...?

SP: sadly thats how Pak cricket works.. if ur a star, u can get away with murder. Shoaib Akhtar has been getting away with so much shit. Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis in their day got away with everything.

MoYo is no different.. he's the best batsman that Pak has produced and the board will rush to have him in the side as soon as he's available.

Someone like him who ditches the country shud not be allowed to play if it were upto me, but then how do u xplain that to a 100 million fanatics? And when u have a brittle middle order like ours, how do u keep him out?
