Who said that ??

by RajaB

"This loss is disappointing but the loss in 2007 ODI World Cup was the worst loss of my career"

And also tell us why he / she does't consider this the worst loss (or one of them)

basically, in 2007 Saurav and Rahul were the villains. Now, he is. So to admit this is the worst loss rankles...hence the choice of 2007. Sort of reminding people that hey dopnt blame me, even greats like RD and SCG lost worse than me...

Well his house got stoned in 2007, so don't blame him...

This time they're burning his effigies outside his house.

Sad.

@ Raj: Bingo !! As ever...

In boxing terms, all he wanted to say was "Those were knockouts, this was a points decision"

@ Late inswing: You got the bulls eye !! Vintage FODP here "The batsmen let me down, the bowlers did their job"

Going by conventional (traditional) cricketing wisdom a captains value shows when he is on the field... Going by this, what he says translates to "I did a fabulous job as a captain, but those idiots let me down with their reckless batting"

@ NC: You are also right !! Ronaldo did say that after they lost to France... but then he didn't have the Real Madrid contract !! So he could afford to talk about his country too...

@ Q: FODP is a very good man giving perspectives, he always carries a prism in hand to give a rainbow of perspectives with one beam of light !!

Well about his house being stoned, I have heard that that was one of the over enthu media who reported that. In reality the Public Works Department of Ranchi was unloading a truck full of stones for relaying the road. It actually was a gesture to welcome the famed son of the soil back after a strenuous tour !! The vigilante Indian media reported this as an act of vandals, what a shame.
