The Rest Of India team for the Irani Trophy has been announced and I am quite impressed with the job the selectors have done.
Not as impressive are the teams announced for the Challengers.Given the thinness of the bowling attack of the India Green team ( especially with the new ball) and I would reckon that it will be India Blue playing India Red in the finals.
A couple of grouses though - No Cheteshwar Pujara for the RoI team? Seriously? And no Praveen Kumar for the Challengers? Surely a spot could have been found for the man who was instrumental in India winning the CB series!

last heard che was injured... after that there is no news...
regarding PK... until unless they find him the first name to be written as bowler in the team sheet... his absence is baffling...
another notable absentee is dravid... there by confirming my stance that dravid selection wont go beyond champions trophy...
Praveen, Dravid, Sehwag and Karthik would be playing in the Champions League - for BRC/DD.
Both the Challenger and the Champions League start on Oct 8

its a bloody TN-biased selection.
M Vijay - what has he done to merit 50 overs selection
R Ashwin - ditto
Badri - well maybe ok selection but he is from TN, so per Uncle (?)am's decree, he shouldnt have been selected.
Sureshkumar - anybody even heard of him?
Abhinav Mukund - one more quota seleciton
Jakati - must be dropped because he has CSK connection
Sorry I forgot to badmouth Balaji valaji. &*&&(( Balaji shouldnt be selected.
