While watching the Ashes you guys might have observed how much the Poms and the Aussies value tradition and history. Both the teams always wear their traditional caps in Test matches... baggy green for the Aussies and the navy blue - three lions and a crown for the English.
However, India tends to stick to their one-day baseball-style caps even in the Test matches, except for Rahul Dravid. Just hope to see our boys wear their traditional headgear as well. The old India cap is really smart... I don't understand the reason why most of our players prefer the newer variant.
Wot say?
Indians never wear traditional cap

k...can we also reply...?
Sorry SP. My fault. That was meant for everyone.
This has been an old problem with Indian cricketers. Azhar hit a new low by wearing a white helmet while he was Indian captain!
Does a player really need to wear a "traditional" cap to show his commitment?
Anil Kumble wore a pretty roughed up cap, I suppose that was the cap he was handed on his debut. Sehwag, Tendulkar, Harbhajan, Zaheer, Laxman wear the floppy hat so I don't know where the baseball cap arguement is coming from.
Dravid is one who wears it occassionally.
One image I will never forget is the winning stroke at the awesome Adelaide test in 2004. When Dravid square drove McGill for the winning runs, exulted as he ran, took off his "traditional India cap" and kissed the inignia on it emotionally.
We should appeal to the BCCI to start the tradition of making players wear traditional woolen cricket caps in Test matches. Rahul Dravid has always worn one, and I have seen Sehwag, Kumble, Ganguly and Yuvraj occasionally wear one too.
Let's together make this difference in the Indian team!
