Round 1 to the good guys!

by Homer

2-3. And an opportunity, at home, to square the ledger.

In the meanwhile, a 99 run victory for the Mumbai Indians. As emphatic a statement as can be expected from the most improved squad in the IPL.
Next up, Bangalore. And another opportunity to let Robin Uthappa know that his squad lost the Ranji Trophy to us. And why he is not good enough to wear Indian ( both Mumbai and Team India) colors.

"How many times they have won is only for the record books. I don't think it counts for this game." Karnataka captain Robin Uthappa plays down Mumbai's formidable Ranji record

"But I believed we handled it better and we didn't go making statements. We understood there would be a certain amount of banter but, in all honesty, I never expected a Mumbai side, which has claims of such a great attitude, to go out and report a few issues that seemed very silly."

We remember. Oh yes, we do. And Robin, we sure as heck wont make you forget.

Yes, they sure as hell proved it in those games against Punjab and Rajasthan.

Win trophies based on a stupid system which encourages passive cricket. No wonder the Indian team couldn't do squat when it was full of "good guys".

Isn't this the same Robin your owner paid $850,000 to run out your captain in a crucial game?

Homer said...

Like I said Mahek, Robin was just not good enough!

Good enough to get $850,000 though. Seeing Pathan run Tendulkar out was priceless, and Uthappa completed the chokejob by holing out to Yuvraj's bowling.

Good enough to be let go the next season Mahek.. :)

SRT has worn the Indian colours for 2 decades, Robin Uthappa wore it for what, 2 , tops 3 years ? But who is a World Cup winner and who isn't :)

Maybe that is something Robin would willing share with all and sundry eh :)

Cost your boys a place in the semis though. Reckon he did his job, went back to Bangalore and made the finals with them. Even showed his former employers what he could do by smashing the Mumbai bowlers all over.

And so he should, Steve, given that Robin Uthappa doesn't have much else going for him :)

Mahek,

4 comments and 4 more reasons why the Mumbai team and the Mumbai faithful should give Robin Uthappa hell when Mumbai play Bangalore.

Thanks much for the support..

Cheers,

may be you have forgotten that in this BRC team, Robin is a fringe player and if you are betting on him as a match winner then you are mistaken. BRC has more match winners and equal good bowling unit:)

Gana,

Respect where respect is due.. And Robin Uthappa is not worthy of any.

Homer, ofcourse Mumbai Indians have Durbhajan Singh so they have all the moral right to go about dissing opposition for so much as giving back as he got. Surely Mumbai isnt Australia? You can take what you dish out? No? you are Ricky Ponting?

Both sides were guilty of banter in the final, but seems like Mumbai went to Mama referee crying?
Correct me if I am wrong.

Never mind, why dont you see Dravid and Kumble and Kallis instead of a puny idiot, who in any case is a less obnoxious weed than the one your captain encourages?T he same captain whom the weed blamed for his poor bowling last IPL season. Ha, thats the greatest punishment a Mumbai fan can get and youve already got it - having that weed int he team to support. Only Death is a fate worse than that or perhaps not even death

I can foresee a Mumbai vs Chennai final this year. However, it's good that DD loses some matches at the start and struggles to make it to the semis so that even if they lose in the semis there is no heartbreak for DD fans. Unlike last year when they won everything and then lost one crucial match to get knocked out. Would rather have them struggle now.

Resorting to sledging a fringe player now, Homer? And you thought Sangwan's language would put a sailor to shame :)

The only thing that's surprised me about this post is all those springing up in defense of uthappa. I mean come on I know you all love to hate Mumbai but this is Robin we're talking about, one of most annoying players on the circuit!

The two ranji quotes summed him up perfectly not only is he too arrogant for his own good, he's a whiny little bitch when he loses!

Defending Uthappa? I like to poke as much fun at him as any other cricketer I dislike. However, no one or nothing comes close to my dislike for Mumbai :)

I guess MI really "showed" RCB in today's match eh, Homey boy? 'Twas almost cringe-worthy that all MI could do to show RCB, was have Zaheer mouth off the fringe player - after said fringe boy had nailed MI for only a couple less than God had RCB. So this was Round 2, then, in your scorecard?

Feel free to take your shots G-Free. Its your time and opportunity..Cant dispute your moment in the sun.

And wasnt Zak telling off Robin just brilliant.. Made the loss a little more palatable :)

Cheers,

Lol, I think Zaheer was upset because he had to move to Mumbai because Nita bhabhi didn't want Uthappa in the lineup. That was the second stupidest send-off ever after Harbhajan had mouthed another Mumbai discard after he'd been bitchslapped for a six.

Hurts to see sachin lose but made somewhat palatable by the screwing durby got. If only they'd get rid of that pest, I'd turn mumbai indian all the way!
