is it only me or have you also noticed that since robbing singh was sacked from the job... team india has started fielding well...
fielders are attacking the ball... curbing the singles in inner circle... hitting stumps too with regularity as jadeja showed with the dismissal of ponting...
i would attribute all this to the 'after effects' of robbing singh...

Robbing Singh - prelude to a termination letter
Hello maan,
Thought we'd drop you a line while your wards dropped a few more catches.
We haven't seen any of the highly suspect methods employed by you, but we are in complete agreement that you should be taken out of your employment.
Seeing as this is the prelude to your termination letter, please help us answer a few questions. This will make your termination swift.
1) Who the f**k are you answerable to –Kirsten, India’s star players or are you Indian crickets’ KPS Gill? Bottom line, how long before you feel the pinch?
2) What does it take for a fielder to improve - Sidhu improved enough to become Jonty Singh. Do Munaf Patel and Ishant Sharma have to take another man's life to give a batsman fewer lives?
3) On a good day, India's catching is on par with the Windies’ catching on a bad day, and don't we all know where you come from maan?
4) Is the BCCI trying to makeup for you playing most of your international cricket in your twilight years?
5) Are you just one of the boys – and coach Kirsten has taken it upon himself to not only worsen the players’ fielding but your coaching too
6) Are you too polite a guy to ask Yuvi to take his vitamins and catches
7) Do the players not understand your Trinidadian accent

carrying on from my post here at BCC!...can you explain mr robin singh...? in which i raised this question...during second test i think...
have you ever anticipated that dravid, sachin and even laxman are not gonna carry on for ever...
being a fielding coach can you lay claim on developing a single slip fielder in all these years...?
i think his case is a clear cut example of sitting on laurels (if any)...relaxed into warming the chair...knowing the job is unchallenged and reserved till he wishes...
we were never a brilliant fielding outfit but at least we were good catchers...more than three years of robin singh at the helm as fielding coach and we can't even claim to be good catchers now...so much for his 'achievements'...
in fact everytime ball goes in the air towards a fielder my heart misses a beat with the possibility of another catch getting grassed...and less said about slip cordon the better...
he has simply failed to inculcate 'fielding' culture in the team...even the players who were good (like yuvraj) now seems to be wanting...he has allowed them to drift away thereby failing to assert himself...
since we won't be playing tests till late this year...i think it's time to say goodbye to him for his services and look for another fielding coach who will bring some fresh perspective and intensity which is clearly lacking in our players these days...
besides the chosen one will get ample time to groom players for the next world cup as well as the challenges of tests...now that we have pronounced that we want to be numero uno...
although dhoni proudly said "we have set the benchmark"... but i firmly believe that any other team with same skill set but better fitness level would have whitewashed kiwis...and that would have been the perfect benchmark...in my opinion...

no my question is not related to the pathetic fielding display...i am used to seeing it...

what's the role of a fielding coach then...doing fielding drills that even boycott's mom can do...?
...and we are regressing alarmingly on that front too...
