though he started well...but that onslaught from yusuf seems to have scarred him...seems to have lost his touch since...and now struggling to complete his quota of overs...

i have not seen him captain so can't comment on that but what i know is that he is going great guns and i don't wanna put an extra burden on him...which might hamper his fluency with the bat...delhi needs him more as a bat than a captain...

after what he did with his sole captaincy stint in a T20 match in srilanka...no way...?

i think he is best suited for this temporary stint...seems to have found some form with bat...and extra responsibility and lure of competing against dhoni might make him more alert and focused on the job at hand...which delhi needs badly in the middle...as also in the middle overs...the way delhi opening has been so far...
besides...it will be a sight to see dhoni coming to toss with his counterpart...i really don't wanna miss this chance to see them compete against each other...

Viru will only trust his partner Gauti for this job. Otherwise, look what Gilly did to Laxman and what happened to Saurav and Rahul. Who knows? Better to give to trusted partners like Gauti. Besides, Gauti has bigger stature in Indian Cricket as of now. The way in Indian cricket is to give the bigger stature player the captaincy. Infact, TN alternated between Dinesh Karthik and Badrinath depending on who is in the Indian squad in the last 2 years :-)

the only problem with gauti being captain is...he is too shy to be assertive as captain...
Gautam has captained Delhi in the domestic circuit in place of Viru several times has he not? The dude led them to a Ranji trophy win once - give him some credit! As for Gauti being shy and not too assertive, I can practically hear Shane Watson going "au contraire, sp".
As much as I would love to see DK and Dhoni face off as captains, it wouldn't be so great for Delhi.
DK and MSD gng out to toss - one will fumble with the coin, the other will drop it.
But as Raj and Maithreyi say, it could be GG. That will be some sight too, esp if he elbows out the opp.

elbowing someone and being assertive on field is two different things...and if anything i will count this as another negative aspect to not hand over rein to gg...it shows that he is prone to lose head under provocation...pressure...

yeah, Karthik not upto it. Look how he stupidly got out when Delhi had it in the bag. Gautam will never do it...er...he will get out much before that :-)
