cometh the happy hour... cometh the man...

by straight point

before the start of the second test match seniors including captain MoYo... were fighting hard to stay away from the no. 3 slot as if someone had consigned a death wish to the scorned number... whoever from these 'dedicated' seniors bat at that no. would see his career die...

so they all decide to hide behind a 'veteran' of two test innings... to bail them out from this death wish...

the gutsy veteran that umar akmal is... showed these gentlemen how you can still bat on these 'minefields' where more than talent... it requires temperament and the heart of a warrior... which is beyond age... experience and reputation...

its good that pakistan has bowlers who perform more often than not... bring pakistan back into the match... it takes a special collective talent to do that... day in day out... match after match... irrespective of these rudderless seniors...

this time too it was no exception...

pakistan bowlers bowled new zealand for 99 and handed their team a heady lead of 165... on a platter...

then what we saw..?

we saw MoYo... the captain who leads from behind the back of a debutant... stepping in at no. 3...

cometh the happy hour... cometh the man...

Had the 1st wicket fallen a little later, they would've sent the other Umar (Gul) as night watchman.

And then it could be said, "Meri bhi Umar lag gayee"
