Must admit, I have my reservations with the IPL. While the finals will be played on Sunday, 24th May, between two lacklustre teams – could be either Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Punjab, maybe even Bangalore, spare a thought for Kolkata – for they spared none. Yet in spite of that, how they’ve played, and how they've payed! It’s time we honour the heartbreak kids. I propose a game for the losers, the winners of broken hearts. Give them another game, one which they cannot lose. Let them play amongst themselves – KKR v KKR A. Let one team be led by McCullum, the other by Ganguly. Let them toss for the team names too. A team with so many factions deserves no less. And while they’re at it, how about a mini KKR league, made up of 8 KKR teams. That way, every game KKKR will win. And SRK will never go away!
Give KKR its due
B the moment of the day
It was the first match of the day, but as usual I decided to cud-chew the few fun moments of the match before I decided on this one.
Did we realise that Buchanan outfoxed all of us?
Let me tell you how and why...
While we were wasting time talking about his multi-captain theory, he has quietly discovered & implemented yet another gem.
Did you notice that he played 3 wicket keepers in the 11 today?
Yes, there was McCullum, van Wyk & Saha.
I am told Buchanan is exploring the possibility of having 11 wicketkeepers (who will also be captains) in the team. He would soon implement this idea and revolutionise the brand of cricket KKR play.
He thinks once this brilliant idea is implemented nobody can beat them. You know how?
As a batsman you need a bowler to score your runs, what would you do if you had 11 wicketkeepers and no bowlers?
It would be a walkover!!
What a smart idea coachie...
Achettup's Moment For IPL Match #4
VVS's runout... Austin Powers would have done a three-point-turn quicker than VVS took to spin on his heel. Shukla didn't even bother with a direct hit, he had time to watch Sehwag's obilteration of KXIP, the Declaration of Independence and Mars Attacks, before deciding to pop it over to McCullum who had half circumnavigated the globe before turning back hearing that Gibbs had shouted "NO".
Honorable Mentions:
- Sharma Running Out Agarkar
- Doull telling (recent St Kitts citizen and Alcoholics Anonymous member) Herschelle Gibbs to go enjoy a drink after his performance.
- And as mentioned by Ankit, that glorious six welcoming lethargic Agarkar to IPL Season 2.
