Who knew Marsh would score a hundred

by bored cricket crazy indians

The trouble with Sachin’s 175, it belittled Marsh’s first one day hundred.

We saw that coming, not Sachin's, but Marsh's hundred.

Early Bored call:

The quiet reassurance that classy openers have, Marsh has that. I see him scoring a ton this series, either Delhi or Mohali. If it happens at some another venue, I’ll take that.

But they didn’t play him in Delhi. Of course they did in Mohali and then Hyderabad.

In a way, Mohali was Marsh’s first chance, and Hyderabad his second. After his hundred, we all know he only gets going after two chances.

What happens after this is none of our business.

Not a Paine in the Aus.

by Gaurav Sethi

In the first two games against India, Australia opened the batting with Tim Paine. They must have had their reasons, beyond me. Meanwhile Marsh, he was in the basement, hanging out with the tail.

Nearly 25, Tim Paine still looks too young, even for under-19 cricket. In barely two months he’s gloved 15 ODIs. If seven are too many, what about fifteen, Ricky?

Poor Paine, he even has a hundred, against England of all people. Now Marsh doesn’t have a hundred, but there’s something about him that whispers, I can open.

The quiet reassurance that classy openers have, Marsh has that. I see him scoring a ton this series, either Delhi or Mohali. If it happens at some another venue, I’ll take that.

Marsh has five gears, breaks, and car insurance too, top that his model is called Shaun. It worked for Pollock, it will for him; like a boon.

As too Paine’s injury for this Aussie team; they could just unearth a long term opening option; and to think, they weren’t even looking.

Well, I’ve been. Like to see Marsh open with Hopes. If they’re good enough for Kings XI, they’re good enough for me. And of course, their national side.

(of course Hopes is injured, but then isn't everybody; cricket is like love, it hurts)

Katich & Kaif

by Gaurav Sethi

by Naked Cricket

A law firm yes, a cricket firm, no way.

Research reveals cricinfo’s profile picture of Katich is very unKatichlike. Simon is smiling. It resembles a grimace, but it’s more of a smile. Almost scary, but then we know how benign Simon really is. Wonder why he dropped this smile? Just can’t katich.

Then there’s Kaif. He’s got his voter’s id card photo out. There should be a stamp, but adobe photoshoped it away. Wonder why they didn’t show him squatting at silly point?

But enough of the niceties, boys, both Katich and Kaif, though humble servants of the noble game, have not been long term prospects.

They lack glamour. They’re too sincere. Their ODI strike rates are low – Katich’s is less than 70, Kaif’s less than 73 – it’s 72 odd. Very odd. That’s almost like Saurav’s or Rahul’s. But 10 less on their middle aged average. Next -

Over to Marsh & whoever it was that took over from Kaif. Yuvraj?

Next – Raina, Rohit, Raina?

Rohit & Raina. A law firm yes, a cricket firm, yes too.

And how about Marsh & Hussey, David that is.

Even their profile pictures are more cricketlike. At least David’s is.
