Khufiabaaz has unearthed the reasons behind Bored Member/Cricket Mogul Mahek's Suspension. If you haven't read it yet do have a look
here and also do read Mahek's
response. The Bored Game is under new management and I as Chairman and Commissioner will ensure complete transparency and also there is no need for the franchises to worry, making sure their investments are performing well is our top most priority. The Brand of the Bored Game will take care of itself and make sure it will get bigger and better with time. The previous edition of the Bored Game had 41 franchises taking part at the end of 60 games which had a notification a week ahead of the start of the tournament. This time around, due to paucity of time we had the notification out just 7 hours before the start of the tournament and at present we have 34 franchises ( increasing by the day) competing for the Bored Prize. This just shows the increasing popularity of the Bored Game and it is here to Stay.
After Ten Games we have
Technosiastic comfortably in first position but has no transfers left, followed closely by 5 teams separated by 110 points, this just shows how competitive our league is and a testament to how it will survive in the long run! Amongst the bunch of five we have rojonigondha leading the pack in at 2nd and TechieGuy 3rd. Ex-IBL Chief Mahek and Yours Truly in 4th and 5th positions respectively. We have Achettup, Purna (making her Debut) and Homer in 19th, 24td and 27th respectively. Given how the recent matches have been decided by D/L Method has added an element of surprise to the league and will continue to be more interesting as we move into the business-end of the tournament. A superlative performance from a trump player can propel franchise from the mid 20's into the top 5 ! Hence the present standings count for absolutely nothing !
On a personal note, the rain has hid me where it hurts the most! I have 4 English players in my franchise at present and two of them (Yardy and Broad) combined bowled less than 2 overs in their two matches which gave me a superlative '5' points !
An appeal to all the franchises to pick players from Bangladesh and Afghanistan as both the teams can still make it to the Super 8, so if you pick them now and if they qualify it will be a stroke of genius! Do follow the league table on Cricinfo.
Some of the franchises have used up their quota of 20 transfers ! Only time will tell whether this will prove beneficial to their franchise's progress in the Super 8 stage or do we not wait ? You decide! This has prompted me to remind all the franchises that the 20 transfers they have at their disposal are till the end of the Super 8 stage.

Bored Members and Bored Friends,
Here is another reason to keep you glued to all the matches (including matches like West indies vs Ireland and Australia vs Bangladesh ) in the upcoming World T20 and cheer for players from other countries, introducing The Bored Game: World T20 Fantasy League. We had 41 teams contesting in the Bored IPL League on Cricinfo Fantasy. The World T20 starts TODAY and it's time we have another game between us.I love Fantasy Cricket and have been playing it for over 2 years now, having been a part of all the Bored Games, I have created a Bored League this time around. With 12 teams to choose from it will be a true test for a Fantasy player to pick the perfect XI. As Bored Member Achettup had done such a wonderful Job in explaining all there is to about Fantasy Cricket previously , it would be a waste of time trying to better it, so I will copy and edit wherever required :
Step 1) Create an account at Cricinfo's Fantasy Games page here
Step 2) Login to your account and find your way to the World of 20-20 page here
Step 3) Click on Create Team. On the new page Click on the -> next to the player's price to select them as part of your team.
Step 4) You have to pick 11 players within your budget of $1,000,000. You can pick three types of team combinations:
- 4 Batsmen, 2 Allrounders, 1 Wicketkeeper(s) and 4 Bowlers
- 5 Batsmen, 2 Allrounders, 1 Wicketkeeper(s) and 3 Bowlers
- 4 Batsmen, 3 Allrounders, 1 Wicketkeeper(s) and 3 Bowlers
Choose your players, keeping in mind how points are scored (read more here), select a trump player (who will earn double points) and give your team a name in the Enter Team Name field. Remember that you can select a maximum of SIX players from a country. Save your team selection.
Step 5) Now all you have to do is join the Bored Cricket Crazy Indians league. To do this, leave a comment here, telling us which email address you used to create your fantasy league team.**
Step 6) We will then send an email (via cricinfo) to you containing a unique LPIN code. Now login to you fantasy league account on cricinfo and go to your team's page. Under "Leagues" on the left sidebar, click on Join League. Then enter the unique LPIN code that we sent to you via email.**
** Alternatively, immediately after creating your team, you can click on Join League and use this unique LPIN code106105-2d5609771c6ccb6d
Please let me know if you were able to do this.
Step 7) We will then approve your team's entry into our Bored Game: Fantasy Cricket Challenge. That's it, you should now be part of the league and be able to see all the other people who are taking part and the teams they've selected. Do let us know if you have any problems creating a team or joining the the league.
We will update the scores of all teams in the league right here on BCC! from time to time.
Please try to let us know if you're taking part at the latest before 10:30 PM on Friday, April 30th. Don't worry about not picking the perfect team and waiting to register only after you've done that. As described below, there is plenty of time to make changes. What is more important is that we register your team name with the Bored Cricket Crazy Indians league as early we can.A Few Useful Notes:
- Before the start of the first game, you can make unlimited changes to your team. The cut off time to make these unlimited changes is 10:30 PM Friday April 30.
- After that you can make up to 20 changes to your teams at any time before the semi finals.
- After the Round Robin stages, you can once again make unlimited changes to your team, so that you pick from only those teams that have made it to the semis.
- Once the first semifinal starts, you are allowed to make only 6 changes to the end of the tournament.
- You will usually get half an hour between the toss and the start of the match to find out who the final 11 players are. Use this time to substitute a player who might be dropped, because once the game starts, the team is "locked in" and if you haven't picked your substitute in time he will not score points!

The IPL has come to an end, or has it? For the past few weeks the off-field action has been more interesting than the on-field action in the IPL. Would be immense fun if we had a fantasy team with the off-field action where in we could have cricket administrators and politicians in our team and predict who will resign next? Who will be the next chairman? Who will be caught in a scam next? but sadly we have to make do with one which involves the on-field action.
Coming to the Bored Game, players had a chance to make amends as they had unlimited transfers after the league stage and before the start of the knockout stage. It gave an opportunity to those who had not performed to their potential to redeem themselves.
Pollard was the Game Changer in Semi final 1 and Bollinger in Semi Final 2, both of whom picked up a bucket load of fantasy cricket points and those who had them as trumps made huge strides forward in the league. Each of the top 3 had at least one of the above as trumps and consolidated their position at the top. For players who had put their faith in the Deccan Chargers (Like me, who had 5 of them when they played their semi final) after their dream run of 5 consecutive wins went down significantly as they failed to turn up for their remaining two matches. All in all four one-sided matches with the 3rd place playoff the most one sided match of the tournament made sure the IPL ended on a low key note.
There was no change in the Top 3 of the league with sidbetala retaining his top spot. ABVan gave him a run for his money and finished 2nd and abcdes completing the top 3. Given the IPL has 60 matches and each player in the fantasy game has at least 40 substitutions at their disposal it is extremely rare for two teams to be tied on the number of points scored and that too in a league of 41 players is as rare as England winning an ICC event! But it has happened, Yours truly and Nihal were tied at 13101 points for fourth spot, so who knows England might surprise us after all! Mahek, the League Manager moved 4 places up to 6th position. Achettup finished in 13th position and Jatman, who picked only Indians players throughout the tournament was at 17th position out of the 41 players who took part in the Bored League (You can see the final table standings here)

Right. I'm back after a short break. Didn't have no mobile company sponsoring it though. There are just 10 games left in the league stage and only one team has made the semis. Even that team isn't assured of top place. So what does this mean for our fantasy game? Not much, except that teams won't be resting their key players unless they lose a couple of games and are ruled out of the semis.
Sid has taken the lead and ABVan is right behind. It appears to be a fight between the top four but all it takes is one big performance by an unknown player for the others to catch up.
There are two games tomorrow with Mumbai playing Delhi at the Barbourne and Kolkata walking into the furnace that is the Chepauk. Make sure you change your trump player between games.

A couple of one-sided games tonight but I'll take them. Good to see Kolkata lose and Delhi continue their dream run. One thing is clear though: Cheeka would make a terrible fantasy cricket player. Probably worse than me. I bet we could find five guys in our league who would do a better job than our selectors. Speaking of the league, Adtiya from forwardshortleg has clawed his way to the top. ABVan loses a place but he's close enough, as is Sid. It looks like a fight between these three unless someone makes an inspired pick.
There is only one game tomorrow with Deccan taking on Rajasthan in Nagpur. Watson had a terrific start with the bat last game and expect him to kick on. Deccan are likely to make a couple of changes to arrest their three-game losing streak.

Right, so I brought in Gayle and made him my Trump because I figured he would atleast get a wicket or two. He did. But he forgot that he's an opening batsman. You know the world is conspiring against you when Gayle scores 4 off 7 and Ganguly scores 88 off 54. Atleast Ojha and Symonds got me a couple of wickets each. Helped make up one place in the league, as did Ach. Aditya is also up one place and less than 100 points behind ABVan. Both have plenty of transfers in the bag. As Shastri would say,"One just gets the feeling this will go down to the wire".

That's it. I give up. I've had it with Fantasy Cricket. Whoever I pick decides to be a no-show. My Trumps can't take wickets or score in double digits. It would be great if the leaders shared their insights.
The top 7 remain unchanged with ABVan keeping his lead and Parth and Aditya close behind. I might just ban them if they don't reveal their secrets here. So guys if you're listening, it's time you told us how you've been getting my players to perform so badly.

It was a good day for me with Naman Ojha and Sachin Tendulkar getting me enough points to jump 7 places in the league. Beat that, Warnie! Even Jatman moved up a couple of places thanks to Harbhajan's one-off allround display. Ach is slipping a bit while ABVan and Aditya are opening up a gap at the top.
Tomorrow sees the Daredevils in action after a while so you guys might want to bring in some of the good guys. Watch out for the playing XI after the toss as Gambhir and/or Nehra might be back.

Honestly, should there even be an update tonight? Boring game between two terrible sides. It might have been a close one when you consider how bad they are but Punjab contrived to make Ganguly look like Dada. Heck even Agarkar looked like he fancied bowling in the big league.
So what does this mean for our league? Well nothing. The shambolic umpiring has meant my Trump Player got out for a duck and I'm still stuck at 20. Jatman is still floundering in 26th place. Sure, it's been kind for ABVan, but Ach has dropped another place.

Well, the Royals are back in contention but I wish I could say the same about my team. Nohit decided to screw my team over by running out Symonds and the Deccan bowlers thought Yusuf was vulnerable to the length ball. Oh well, I hope all you Yusuf backers are happy he's got you some points. ABVan has kept his top spot and also has 19 transfers left. Ach slips a place while Jatman has stayed put on 26th.

Another masterclass from Tendulkar has seen his believers soar to the top. Yours truly jumped a place too thanks to his restrained faith in the Little Master. Jatman, meanwhile, has stuck to a purely Indian XI. He tried going with just his Daredevils but it's hard to back players falling like tenpins. Atleast Agent Dhawan helped him move up the board.
Tomorrow sees the Deccan Chargers play after a long gap. Make sure you don't pick Gilchrist, Symonds, Nohit or Vaas. They're only going to help you stay/jump ahead of me and I might just bar your team from the league if you do that. This is also a good time to fill your players with the Royal Chokers, they don't play again till the 31st. This will help you get on my good side and I'm the Commish.

A solid allround performance from Yusuf Pathan (He can thank little Irfan for that lifeline) has propelled ABVan and Aditya to the top of the league. Ach seems to be biding his time like Kallis. Meanwhile, yours truly has made a small jump and is back in the top half of the table. Unfortunately it's no giant leap for mankind, but Sidhu might be tempted to call it one for fantasy cricket.
There are two games tomorrow so make sure you forget to make changes between them. I could use all the help I can get to challenge for the top spot, a prospect that is looking as bleak as that of Ganguly scoring a fifty this IPL season.

17 out of the 56 league games have now been completed... thats just about 30%, so there is a long way to go yet... so preserve those changes, you might need them at the rate at which players are getting injured. You've probably settled on the kind of team you like and will only make the odd change here and there for a specific match, like maybe Yusuf Pathan for Symonds every two matches... but remember if one of your low priced players goes out, like say Rayadu at $75k, you might find it hard to squeeze in another (and maintain the allowed combo ratios of batsmen, bowlers and allrounders) - so you might end up making more than one change...
Enough of strategy, here are the current standings... oh look, is that a dashing Bored Member leading the charts :D

Looks like the league has become a two-horse race with ABVan and Nihal fighting it out for the top spot. Both are in the top 100 and looking to break into the top 50. It's a dogfight after that, with Ach leading a pack of 9 teams separated by 500 points.

Another day gone, another swap at the top. Ach didn't have a great day as he didn't have any players in the first game of the day while Nihal nailed it by having Kallis as his Trump Player. ABVan is still lurking in second place while Jatman has dropped down the table. Quick pat on the back for yours truly for finally making the top 10. I've been playing this game for a while and this is the first time I've finished as high as fifteenth. You can do your due diligence on players, look at the match schedule and firm up a strategy, but it can all go wrong if the players you pick don't deliver. The Trump Player adds another element to the game.
If you want me to share some basic points, here they are:
1.Pick batsmen who bat in the top order. Graeme Smith, Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson, Tim Paine, Jacques Kallis, Jesse Ryder are good picks.
2.Pick wicket-taking bowlers, bowling in the slog overs is an added bonus. Wayne Parnell, Brett Lee, Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi, Ashish Nehra are good picks.
3.Pick bowlers who can bowl and vice-versa. Paul Collingwood, Reolof van der Merwe, Jacques Kallis, Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson, Daniel Vettori are likely to get you batting as well as bowling points.
4.Look for smart picks. There were quite a few in the Champions Trophy. Tim Paine, Grant Elliott, Eoin Morgan, Ashish Nehra to name a few. Graeme Smith at 95k was also a smart pick.
5.Use your subs to maximize the number of active players. India weren't going to play their first game until South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies had played two each. So it made sense to not have an Indian in the side until their first game. Also, South Africa and Sri Lanka were to finish their group matches while India, England, New Zealand and Australia had two games remaining. Naturally, you bring in players from these sides once the Proteas and Lankans were done.
6.Hope your players deliver and don't get injured or dropped.
